FYI, Apple has just published new samples showing how to use the System Configuration framework reachability (SCNetworkReachability) and PPP APIs (SCNetworkConnection) that we introduced in Mac OS X 10.3.

I especially recommend that you take a look at SimpleDial if you're using an older PPP control API (such as the OT/PPP and "ppplib" APIs). SCNetworkConnection is the API that we'd like to support in the long term.
