detecting sockets

  • Subject: detecting sockets

Hello List.

I'm trying to detect **all** sockets that are created (and that have been established) on a system. I've been analyzing the output of netstat with some success, but netstat will often miss sockets that are only alive for a short time.

Someone suggested that I setup a kernel notification for socket connect calls, or patch it in some manner. I'm not really sure how to do that, or if it's a good solution.

Any ideas... Thanks,

Thomas
