General Sockets Questions?

  • Subject: General Sockets Questions?

Hi,

I've been reading this list for a little while now. I've used OT before but just started learning sockets. And now that I am realy working on a network project, I'd like to know if it is OK to ask general sockets questions here, even if I am using BSD sockets and not CFSockets ( I need my project to work both on Mac and LINUX).

Also, I'd like to ask about good reading material on sockets programming, other than Richard Stevens' Books (which I've ordered but are gonna take a while to arrive). I started out with Beej's tutorial and managed to send a few bytes across a TCP connection, but I need more. Particularly about how to set up a good solid server/client engine for simple needs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Carlos.
