Hi,
I've been using the IOServiceMatching with KIOUSBDeviceClass and
kIOUSBInterfaceClassName, where one just reports that if the USB is there
and if one has actually for a interface for it via a driver. As I can find
my USB device via looking at idVendor and idProduct.
Although I don't see the right driver for it, but IOUSBFamily.kext which
is a little weird, as it takes installing my MacPortXEnetShim.kext to make
it appear in the kIOUSBInterfaceClassName iterator objects. As when I get
interface io_object into the MoreSCFSetPortNameCallback it has the
MacPortXEnetShim Bundle indentifier.
Anybody got any ideas as I'm trying to find the portname for this
particular USB modem, as this driver can be used with other previous model
numbers.
Thanks
Mark.

Hi,
Would anybody know how I would get to the USB idVendor and idProduct using
the MoreSCFSetPortNameCallback mechanism, as I presently use this so I can
find out what the interface name is currently going to be. What I need to do
is check what the actual device is at the end of this entry is, as the
driver can be used with many products.
I guess kIOUSBPlane needs to be used, but I'm just not getting anyware
starting with the ioobject interface, which is passed in.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Mark.
