CFFTPStream in Panther does not fall back.  Under Panther, you'll get no information from these servers.

For my ftp downloads with cfftpstream I set  kCFStreamPropertyFTPFetchResourceInfo to true. This gets me a bunch of info, but I am really only interested in the file size (for displaying progress, remaining time etc...). CFFTPStream is using the stat command which not all ftp servers seem to support/have enabled. Is there anyway to tell CFFTPStream to fall back to the size command (apple's developer ftp servers support the size command but not the stat command for example) ?
