802.11i/WPA/WPA2 support

Hi all,

I have a question concerning 802.11 authentication and security, in particular WPA/WPA2.

[Apologies if this is the wrong list; please point me to the right list if that's the case]

I need a WPA and WPA2 supplicant for my 802.11 driver and its associated control application and I'd like to know whether Apple provides a WPA/WPA2 supplicant for use in third-party 802.11 products.
My current understanding is that this doesn't exist, or that it does exist, but the API is closed. Is this correct?

Are there any third-party (if possible, Open-Source) supplicants I could use?
I've found stuff from Meetinghouse Inc. (Aegis client), but it's not free and doesn't support 10.3 or 10.4.
There's also Xsupplicant, but from what I've seen their WPA support is not yet operational.

Can anyone shed light on these questions?

Thanks very much for any replies.

Cheers,
Gerald
