Hi,
I have been trying to set up an iChat server outside (in DMZ) our
organization (or company you may say) network.
The thing is that teleconferencing does not work from an intranet ip
and out to an internet ip. I always end up with an "did not respond"
message after the invited conferencing partner actually has accepted
the call.
I have investigated the problem into some detail by setting up a
sniffer on "the inside client". It seems that the company firewall
blocks some SIP traffic, UDP port 5060.
The idea by placing this iChat server (Mac OS X Tiger Server) in DMZ
was to control and enable video conferencing from inside the company
network (intranet) and to customers connected to the internet.
Is there any way that the server can be configured to establish such
a service ?
Can NAT be used to translate the outside ip to a DMZ ip so that the
traffic can go through the company firewall ?
Any other solutions to this ?
Regards
Jon
