IP is designed to ride out temporary loss of connections; without
further information on what you are doing and what "network is
disconnected" means, it's hard to tell much, but on the face of it,
there is no problem.
But Windows sockets is returning -1 error for the same
situation.
It wouldn't be the first bug to show up in windows :-}
