Packet timestamp - SIOCGSTAMP

  • Subject: Packet timestamp - SIOCGSTAMP

Hello,

I am wondering if OS X has a mechanism to read incoming packet time stamps, similar to the ioctl SIOCGSTAMP on Linux. I would like to avoid using a BPF filter, as that requires root priviledges, and also, of course, avoid having to read system time when select() breaks (which will introduce an error proportional to the system's load).

Any suggestions or research directions appreciated!

- Serban
