Hi, I'm trying to fine tune a VPN connection to a server at work by
running a simple ip-up script on my OS X 10.4.7 intel client. The
connection works perfectly if I don't have an ip-up script (except my
tuning). But, the mere presence of the script causes the tunnel to
not function.
I've replaced the ip-up script with:
/usr/bin/touch /tmp/script-has-run
As expected, the flag file is created when the connection is made but
pinging any of the VPN IP addresses fail. This includes the local IP
and remote router's IP. (all work if there isn't a script). There
seems to be a bug in the pppd that only exhibits itself when a script
is fork()-ed. (Unless some additional configuration needed to use a /
etc/ppp/whatever script.)
I've tried to rebuild the ppp-233.10 daemon to debug and/or fix the
problem but am having problems getting the build environment and
dependancies right.
There are similar posts by other L2TP VPN users who have similar
experiences but no resolution. Can anyone give me some guidance on
getting the ip-up script working or how to build the source so I can
fix it.
Thanks,
Steven Pelletier
