CFFTPSample failing to detect an error

  • Subject: CFFTPSample failing to detect an error

Say I'm uploading a small file to an FTP incoming directory, and the directory already contains a file of the same name. Due to permissions, the upload will fail. I've found that when CFFTPSample does the upload, it usually reports a successful upload rather than an error. By watching the TCP traffic, I've verified that the server always returns a 550 error. Anyone know how to fix the code so it always works?

By the way, another odd thing about CFFTPSample is that the upload callback looks for kCFStreamEventEndEncountered. I don't know how CFNetwork could possibly know that the upload is complete, since it does not know in advance the size of the file being uploaded.
