FTP Transfer speed

Hi,
I m using MAC OS X 10.4.8 on Power G5 and the same on Intel MAC.
I have a raid0 configuration with 4 hard disks in both machines.
I sent file across these machines. One side , if i use 'get' command , i am getting around 110 MB/s , but on the other side i am getting only 85-90 MB/s. If i use 'put'
It is less than 60MB/s in both sides.
If i use afp the scenario is same ,but in opposite direction.

After that  i increased tcp send and recv buffer size . then i got 117 in one side but still no change in other side while using FTP.
But I didn't get any improvement in any side when use AFP.

Could any one please tell me the reason for such behavior.

Thanks
Nithin
