I was pretty sure I answered your question in a prior post, witness:You should explain what you are trying to accomplish. What is the motivation for needing to be tightly synchronized? Your right.
My software relies on time as a common factor in algorithm that determines communications parameters. Two or more parties communicating must all be on the same time to within a minute. I figure if I can determine whether the time is right I can be assured that the algorithms in place will work as required.
All bets are off for anyone subverting my system. I don't care what they do - they'll just cause trouble for themselves. My motivation for knowing the time is accurate is so my customers who are not trying to hack it are getting what they bargained for and that my algorithms work the way they are designed. Actually knowing that the time is right down to the hour may be all that I need to know.

There are lots of ways that this check can be subverted by a determined user. You still haven't told us why you are trying to do this.

A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. Q: Why is top posting frowned upon?
