Calling FSResolveAliasFileWithMountFlags from a command line app

  • Subject: Calling FSResolveAliasFileWithMountFlags from a command line app

I am getting both nsvErr and fnfErr calling FSResolveAliasFileWithMountFlags with kResolveAliasFileNoUI on an alias pointing to a network volume in BSD command line application. Double clicking the alias in the finder works correctly with no user interaction required, as does the exact same code when called from a Carbon application with a GUI, again with no user interaction, and everything always works correctly on local aliases.

The command line app is linked with both the Carbon and CoreServices frameworks.

Does anyone have any idea of what might be going wrong?

Jason

Dr. Seuss books . . . can be read and enjoyed on several levels. For
example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed
as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system.
