DNS setup

  • Subject: DNS setup

I'm porting an ethernet device driver from FreeBSD to OS X. I have a Mac Mini for dev and a desktop Pro as the target with the card. The DNS is incorrect in the following manner. If I ping another machine, tahoe, it cannot resolve the unknown host. However, if I fully qualify the name as ping tahoe.mumble.com, then it works fine. The short form works on the FBSD box, but on neither of the Macs. I'm not sure if it's the Mac network setups, or on the name server side. Any hints would be appreciated.

Thanks, Chris
