That would prevent people from sending messages with screenshots or source code attached, both of which can be very useful. I'm pretty sure there's already a limit on message size, so ginormous TIFFs would be bounced anyway.


(If you're talking about the "smime.p7s" attachments that sometimes show up on some people's posts, including mine, those are actually digital signatures. If they show up, there's something wrong with your mail client or the listserv.)
