Hello everyone, I need your help.
I am a younger in developing driver in Mac OS X. Recently, I prepare to write a virtual network device
driver. However, I can't distinguish NKE and network device driver after read the document
"Network Kernel Extensions Programming" and "Network Device Driver Programming guid". Maybe I think the difference of them is NKE is constructed in DLIL, and Network Device Driver use network
family by I\O Kit in general. My work is to write network device driver which can create a virtual network interface. In MAC OS X.
Specialty, the network driver which I need developing is similar like USB CDC Networking Model. So, I was
mazed where I write the network driver in DLIL or I/O kit. In addition, I used the apple's CDC Ethernet kext, and modify the info.plist to our VID and PID,
actually, the kext can't active our device(our device is base on qualcomm MSM interface). Anyone can help me? Thanks,
Best wishes!
