certificates and CFHTTPRequest

Hi,
Not sure if this is possible, but I have been told that I can generate a
public and private certificate, and then install them on the server and the
client (using PGP I'm told ?).

As I presently use CFHTTPMessageRef and CFReadStreamRef for all my
communication to either a http or https servers, but if I wanted to an
additional security by using my own private/public key installed on my own
server/client.

Does anybody have any pointers of how you would go about adding these
certificates into the equation and automatically picked up by these API's ?

Thanks in advance,

Mark.
