That gets me Mac-Mini._afpovertcp._tcp.local in this case.
I would prefer the computer name Mac-Mini for display in a list, without the encoded networking scheme.

Unfortunately, the method you mount the volume is going to cause that name to be different (if I remember correctly). If you use the "Connect to Server" dialog in the Go menu and type in an IP address you will get that back and not any DNS (or Bonjour) name.
