Jim,

I am pretty sure I didn't edit /etc/syslog.conf but I did call:

	openlog("MyApp", LOG_NDELAY | LOG_PERROR, LOG_USER);

in my application and do all of my own logging using:

	syslog(LOG_DEBUG, "message");

so this is probably why this is happening.
