A few months ago I asked here about the lack of support for If-None-
Match: headers in HTTP requests sent by Safari; this makes it
difficult for sites to use ETags for client-side caching because the
conditional GET sent by Safari doesn't contain the cached ETag to
compare against.
Then, just the other day I noticed that my copy of Safari is now
sending If-None-Match: headers to our server! Hooray! This must be due
to upgrading to either Safari 3.2.1 or OS X 10.5.6. Could someone
please clarify what specific versions are needed to get the improved
caching behavior? This is definitely of interest to our QA team, who
are trying to validate our site's caching with various browsers. Thanks.
