cleanest way to get outside IP address

  • Subject: cleanest way to get outside IP address

Hi !

I'm looking for the cleanest or prefered way to get the "outside" IP adress of a host on a network,
from the said host. For example a mac behind a NAT router.
I could setup something on a server to give it back out through an HTTP request, but I'd like
to know if there's already a more general internet service set up for that.

thanks
