I appreciate your effort in listing all those considerations, but I
already have a good picture of those. I'm not a newbie, just not
familiar with the internals workings of the IP stack.
My data cannot accept loss, and the other thing I need to get working
is easy routing through NAT routers, and my app will try to open the
ports using UPnP/NAT-PMP. It's a p2p connection between two Macs "at
home". This rules out anything other than TCP and UDP. I cannot mess
with the users' global TCP options, either.
