There are lots of good way to do this. If you're starting with a
path as a C string, just call <x-man-page://2/statfs> and check
f_flags to MNT_LOCAL.
This does not deal with the mounted disk image hosted on a remote
volume case IIRC.
There was an interesting thread on this topic on the darwin-dev or
darwin-kernel mailing list sometimes ago.
