NSISOLatin1StringEncoding (and NSWindowsCP1252StringEncoding, which is very similar) and NSUTF8StringEncoding are the most common encodings out there on the 'net. If NSUTF8StringEncoding doesn't work, you should post an example of what you're seeing and I'll see if I can puzzle it out.
