SRV Record lookup

Hello all,

I have the need to check half a dozen SRV records in my desktop app (cocoa); I've seen a number of different solutions (NSTask, system, dnsservicequery, CFNetwork).

Can anyone say as to why they prefer one or another, and any sample code out there I can study?
