I don’t have an answer to your question, but have you considered using NSURLConnection instead, since you’re already using Objective-C? It’s much, much easier to use for this than CFStream. I’ve had enough trouble in the past with subtle bugs in CFStream client code that I don’t think I could figure out your problem just by inspection.
