Title: Re: Up/Downloading a File to/from Website
Should I care? That’s part of the question.
At the present, we would like anything that works. However, looking forward, we may want to extend this to a be a specific service, something like YouTube, restricted to specific client groups on a paid basis. If we reach that point, we will probably start looking at existing hosting services. Right now, we just need something for demo, e.g., upload one or more videos from our Mac program, select and view them within our own iPad app. And no, we don’t want to put them on YouTube. (We pretty much know how to do that because we’re already doing that in another iPad app.) We may want to do some customization, such as synchronizing multiple video file, adding related text and other things. But at the moment, we want to keep it simple.

When you say “log in” and “go to a folder”, what protocol are you talking about? WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, some custom web-based UI?
The answers would be entirely different depending on the protocol.
