my app runs as multiple instances (plugins) and each advertises a separate netService.
for some reason, and only on certain users machines, these netServices are occasionally being removed.
I'm getting normal serviceRemoved notifications on NSNetServiceBrowsers but I'm definitely not removing these services myself.
I found some mDNSResponder logging which points to DNS issues or the Bonjour system itself becoming "broken" but can't get to the cause or the solution.
does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
below are some example logs from mDNSResponder (non sequential).
once bonjour starts throwing these errors we start to see several different apps mentioned in logs like these below - but my app suffers in a particularly visible way.
mDNSResponder[49]: Client application bug PID[1277](CueMix FX) : DNSServiceResolve(MOTU\032UltraLite\032CueMix\032FX\032OSC\032on\032davefarmer\.parkroad\.private._osc._udp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network.
mDNSResponder[49]: mDNSCoreReceiveResponse: Received from 192.168.137.95:5353 1 david|-|Mono|-||-|24dfa800._spannerremote2._tcp.local. TXT
mDNSResponder[49]: mDNSCoreReceiveResponse: Resetting to Probing: 24 david|-|Mono|-||-|24dfa800._spannerremote2._tcp.local. SRV 0 0 50327 davefarmer.local.
mDNSResponder[50]: Excessive name conflicts (19) for david|-|5\.1|-||-|7233600._spannerremote2._tcp.local. (SRV); rate limiting in effect
