Obtaining NIC driver name from socket FD

  • Thread-topic: Obtaining NIC driver name from socket FD

In user mode I am able to retrieve Ethernet controller’s driver name [Intel82574L , AppleBroadcom, etc.] using IORegistryEntryGetNameInPlane() IOKit API.

IOKitLib.h is not meant to be used in kernel mode. In Kernel mode extension, is there any way available to obtain NIC driver name using socket?

Thanks,

Pratima
