waiting for IPv4 addresses over bluetooth

I have an issue with resolving net services and extracting their IPv4 address - especially over bluetooth.
for a brief period after establishing a bluetooth connection, my bonjour client finds that [netService addresses] only contains a single IPv6 address.
If I repeatedly resolve the net service I will eventually get an IPv4 address as well as the IPv6, but the wait time can be anywhere from 5-30 seconds.

Now, I could just run with the IPv6 address but these are kinda meaningless to end users.
I'm also not sure how well supported IPv6 is yet and personally know very little about it.

So is anyone aware if this is a known issue with bluetooth between Mac and iOS?
justin
