trying to build configd, understanding dns more

I want to understand more about what scutil --dns does.

Since I have the source, I thought I could easily build it (my mistake).

I had to find ne_session.h (it seems this is in neon?)

Next I got:

/Users/martyleisner/src/apple/configd-699.1.5/SystemConfiguration.fproj/SCNetworkConnectionPrivate.h:492:43: error:
      unknown type name 'ne_session_status_t'; did you mean 'ne_session_status'?
SCNetworkConnectionGetStatusFromNEStatus        (ne_session_status_t status)                            ...
                                                 ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                                 ne_session_status
