making SoftVDigX work with FinalCut Pro?

The SoftVDigX webpage advertises that it works with FCP version 4.0.1

I have FCP version 4.5.  SoftVDigX works excellently with HackTV and
Btv.  FCP detects it, opens the component, but then promptly closes it
and does not show it in the list of available video sources.  Does
anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
