Has anyone experienced a gamma shift when exporting or rendering DVC Pro HD footage into another format, like a 10bit timeline or other quicktime codec?
It's inescapable. Similarly, opening a DVC Pro HD quicktime in After Effects causes the shift immediately. I presume that this is a YUV to RGB conversion problem. I've also noticed that the shift is visible in the Frame Viewer within Final Cut 5 while color correcting.
I've had others confirm this, but have found no solution aside from a gamma shift back by roughly 1.2 to compensate, though it's a bad fix because it negatively effects the image quality in many ways.
