Hi ProApps People,
Is there any enthusiasm for enshrining the LogicPro application as a
major new religion? From my personal experience, it seems the
perfect candidate.
The LogicPro application is completely non-intuitive and a totally
stifling impediment to the individual's, creative spirit.
By requiring a level of detail (rivaled only by the math that
explains string-theory) be accommodated before track #1 can be
created, never mind recording note one on track #1, LogicPro would
seem to be the perfect corollary to the religious fundament where the
adherent is faced with a bottomless pit of questions without answers.
I have spent countless hours in study of LogicPro, spent over $100 in
additional training materials - which I then studied, purchased
another two books, and am still faced with the abjectly abysmal and
depressing chore of trying to make even the most simple use of it.
REPEAT: The LogicPro application is completely non-intuitive and a
totally stifling impediment to the individual, creative spirit.
LogicPro is all right-brained and making music is all left-brained.
You folks missed the musician's mark - although I think you got the
name right.
This note is posted to the Apple ProApps developers list because I
believe that Logic Pro is seriously deficient in the most rudimentary
UserInterface and application behaviors. YES!... it is really
capable but presents an impossibly complicated challenge to use.
Whoever is working on this thing - hear me now and believe me later -
"You are kidding nobody - this is a programmer's sandbox - not a
musician's tool".
As a musician, I find Logic Pro requires I constantly be wearing my
"Engineer's hat" and never do I get to change over to wearing the
"Musician's hat". The net experience is I am not making ANY music -
I am wasting all my energies accommodating the vagaries of LogicPro
to no good musical end.
Just because you charge a bunch of money for the app - don't imagine
it's actually worth that amount - not in the current shape it is in
- it's been nothing but a big waste of my time and blackhole for
whatever creative energies I may have had when I sat down in front of
it.
With no apologies,
Lance Drake
