Hi, Christoph,

I think you must have misunderstood me - I'm not aware of any hidden feature that would give you this behavior. I think it's something we would have to add to the API.

Hi,

when I create a gradient parameter I always get a full color parameter with RGBA controls in both Motion and FCP. A one-channel (Alpha-Only or grayscale) gradient parameter would be absolutely perfect for my current project, which I've shown to you.

Is there a chance to create that without using custom parameters ? You said that there might be a possible "hidden feature" ?

(Brian's message didn't actually go to Christoph, just Apple people).

From what I can tell, the gradient control in both Motion and FCP supports only showing you the alpha controls, or only showing you the RGB controls. We just don't expose this in the FxPlug API.

Hi Christoph,

I remember talking with you about it. Basically you want a one- channel gradient parameter.

Hi Christoph.
I must have missed that conversation. Anybody else?

Hi Dave, hi Paul,

we have spoken in Vegas at the plugin meeting about a gradient parameter which only consists of the Alpha channel without the color information, like the one you have in your Particle Emitter's parameter "Color Over Life". Is there a (currently maybe undocumented) way to create such a color gradient parameter without the need create a custom parameter ?

warmest regards
Christoph

BTW: Vegas was a blast!! Thanks for the great time!
