Hi, Wes,

no, unfortunately we don't have a mechanism to give you that information. I can definitely see how that would be useful; please file an enhancement request through ADC!

I see there is a new open timeline thing in FC6, where it looks like you support different formats on the same timeline, and it says in the marketing literature that you match to the first clip dropped in the project,... what does it mean now when you reference another clip in an effect (will these attribute transforms get baked in the image we get?). For example if I have an SD 29.97 FPS "fielded" video source and I bring in a piece of HDV footage (the 24P in a 29.97 fps thing), and I want to use them as inputs to an effect. Do I know get inputs of different sizes?

I assume the answer is "No" and that an FXPlug will only return image data,
but is it possible

I know this is dangerous/complicated because between the clip and the
footage file could be a nested sequence, composited clips, other messiness,
but aside from that, if an effect was applied to a simple single clip in a
timeline, could that effect return the path to the source media as well as
the footage offset?
