Hi Apple, hi Peter,
same thing here. For the FxPlug interface I would also like to get my hands on the following 3D-data:
- X, Y, Z position of the camera. - The (rotation-)vectors where the camera is looking at (matrice).
In other apps, like AE, I believe they just give the 4x4 transform of the camera, and you can figure out where it's looking by taking the normal <0,0,1> and passing it through the 4x4 camera matrix. Would that be sufficient?
- The Focal Length of the camera's lens. - A indicator if the above parameters are retrievable.
Those sound like reasonable requests. Are other developers interested in this information as well?
Yes, I'm very interested as well. It would be great to have enough 4x4s to be able to back project onto the screen to see how many pixels a layer is covering. This is great for being able to manage level of detail we want to show in our plug-in.
Looking forward to Motion 3 shipping.
