Hi Brad,
You haven't specified what format your footage and sequence is, so
it's hard to track your problem down. Are you using one of our
sequence presets?
One possibility is that you are setting the "supports R408" flag, but
not the "supports R4FL" flag. You need to specify that your plugin
supports r4fl (our floating-point YUV format) in order to receive
floating-point YUV pixels.
If you like, you can send me your project file (I don't need the
footage), which would probably be the fastest way to see what's going
on.

Does anyone know what magic buttons to push to get final cut to
send yuv float to renderOutput? FCP doesn't want to send my filter
yuv float.
I have a yuv based 8 bit codec in my timeline. Sequence settings
match codec. Render settings are set to high precision yuv. My
filter is set to recieve yuv, rfl, rgb in the properties. In preview
mode, I get yuv 8 bit.
However, when exporting to a movie, also yuv, fcp 5.14 insists on
sending renderOutput rgb float. I can't test the yuv float routines
unless I can force fcp to send me that format. Is there a series of
rules by which fcp decides to switch out of the Yuv color format? I
don't want to try to simulate the format using my own color
conversion routine. I need the real thing.
