FinalCutServer ftp tmp files not cleaned up

Dear List,

A FinalCutServer installation which regularly uses FTP to download files collects a growing number of tmp files on the boot volume that are not cleaned up potentially filling it up quite quickly.

The files in question are created during FTP at:

/private/var/tmp/fcsvr_ldsd

and seem to be identical copies of the downloaded files. The files are just not cleaned up at all and the tmp folder already has a size of about 200GB.

My question is: - When is that folder cleaned up usually? - In case this is a bug, is it save as a workaround to automatically just erase them when they are more than one day old?
