I keep wondering why I've never run into this problem, even with hour+
recordings from multiple unsynced prosumer Sony camcorders. You're
mixing the sound from multiple sources! That requires very tight
timing, under 50usec skew by the end of the recording. I'd be
surprised if that's possible.
Obviously, you should record sound on only one recorder.

Using subframeoffset can reduce that a bit, but there can still be
enough residual error that there is noticeable phase distortion when
mixing the sound sources. Being able to specify a fine-grained
percentage would be better, but in the absence of that, modifying the
audio outside FCP (via QT wrapper, perhaps?) is another option.
