Hi Greg,
This is a known issue with audio since many versions, and
definitively has been reported somewhere.
What you can do is to export the merged clips depending on your
project structure as referenced or self-contained movie. Bad thing
about this: those movies only will carry the video TC.
But then you won't get in trouble loosing sync.
I wrote an app for a costumer who had to work with this problem on a
daily base. It does do auto-sync and multiclip creation using TOD tc
and upon creating self-contained merged clips (but includes an
additional tc track). It seems to work as I don't have complaints or
support requests since half a year.
Regards
Andreas

Hi everyone,
I've found some odd behavior making multiclips. I've got 2 clips
with overlapping timecode, but one has video that starts after the
other's video (by 5 seconds and 1 frame). They've got the same
duration though because they're both merged to the same longer
audio clip (double system footage).
Since audio starts before the video in both clips, the 2 clips have
the same In point at the start of the audio. This creates a
multiclip with the picture in sync.
But if I choose to synchronize using timecode, the Sync Time is off
by 5 seconds and 1 frame:<Multiclip.jpg>
And the multiclip picture is out of sync (each angle is in sync
with its angle's audio, of course).
Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks,
