And what about /Library/Frameworks -- is that out of bounds too? Many plugin installers include vendor-specific frameworks that are shared by multiple plugins.
Should these be installed in ~/Library/Frameworks instead? (Does that location even work for the framework loader in previous versions of the OS...?)
That would open the door to the unpleasant situation that there's an older version of the same framework in /Library (which is likely the case if the user upgraded a previous installation).
