Thanks! That does make
me feel better. Appreciate the follow up Darren.
Except I thought rec 709 was sRGB, which is approx gamma 2.2, no?

Micah,
I asked
our color space guy, and here's what he says:
In general there's no way to match
Motion 4/FCP 7, since they weren't color managed in the
first place. I suspect he would find that if he worked
with his plugin in Motion 4 on multiple configs, he'd
see somewhat different results on each. (Although maybe
not as big a difference as he's seeing between Motion 4
and Motion 5.)
The gamma video processing space [in Motion 5/FCP
X] is rec. 709 [color primaries] at gamma 1.961, which
looks a little darker than gamma 2.2. That's the same
value in Motion 5 and FCP X. If it makes him feel any
better, we don't match with Motion 4 either.

Hi
Darrin- we are seeing some differences in
results from a color correction plug-in in
Motion 5/FCPX vs. FCP7, and I suspect it has to
do with the color space. I'm experimenting with
using kFxImageColorInfo_RGB_GAMMA_VIDEO, and it
seems closer but still getting some differences
in the hue values in our results.
Do you know what value the
kFxPropertyKey_DesiredProcessingColorInfo
property should be to match Motion 4/FCP7?
Thanks in advance,
