I know Custom parameters are a no-go in FCPX but has anyone gotten a STRING parameter to work? It's working in Motion, but won't remember its value in FCPX after exiting and restarting.
This is likely related to the issue with custom parameters not getting saved. Can you please file a bug and we'll look into it?
I think it's worse than this. Now I'm trying to set the value of an
Integer parameter and the new value for it is also not remembered when
the project is saved.
What I am doing is I have a checkbox, that when clicked causes
parameterChanged: to be called. The first thing I do is turn the
checkbox off. Then, inside an action group (using the
FxCustomParameterActionAPI) I'm setting the value of other parameters
(including some sliders), which update to reflect the new value.
However, none of these changes are actually saved in the project.
This all works as expected in FCP 7 and Motion. So I'm wondering if the
String parameters (and possibly Custom) are maybe implemented, but since
I can't actually update them in response to another control change,
everything seems broken.
So I'd like to know if parameterChanged:, for setting control values
based on other parameter changes, is completely busted in FCPX.
(if it is, I'll have to cancel this product for FCPX entirely, since
there is no way around what I'm trying to do).
