Why won't FCP 6 load my fxplugs?

I've been using v7 for a long time with no problems but we had an issue reported against v6 so I went to an old machine that had it installed, but for some reason it refuses to load my fxplugs at all - with no messages in the console regarding my plugins.

Is there a magic switch I can enable to see why FCP is ignoring my plugins?
