Last week I heard, at a class, that FCServer is officially dead. From the discussion, it appears Apple sold only 40,000 copies and has decided there is no future in it.
My own belief here is that Apple simply does NOT understand the server market. The money is NOT in the shrink wrap package, its in the on going maintenance fees.
Apple can’t get their minds around that concept. So they killed it and Xserve with it. Its unfortunate since Apple now releases iCloud. Don’t see any future in that if they can’t grasp the idea of servers to begin with.
