another idea is maybe just add a flag in API something like:
For time: (images and parameter values - e.g.: now that you have
animated checkboxes and menus would be nice to know where is the
keyframe?)
You can get keyframes using the new keyframe API!
"conform to Motion Engine template" (default for backward
compatibility) versus "Get FCP provided data and don't conform
before".
This way your own effects would not be broken (if they actually
work) and you would have a clean way to separate your generators
from actual image processing tools that have frame/field accurate
access requirements.
That's an interesting idea. I'll give that some thought. Thanks!
It's a bit like what Premiere did with AE API in CS5.5 overloading
the meaning of PF_OutFlag_NON_PARAM_VARY (in their case now if you
set that time becomes in video track space and you need to use a
Premiere suite to see where the in-point of the clip you are in
is...) versus if you don't set that then time is in AE layer in_data
world and changing the in-point for example still leaves time 0 at
the same place. Also has implications to get image from other video
tracks but more explanations here would start to be OT or OD.
Interesting. I wasn't aware of that flag.
