Hi Dear List,
Honestly, all the buzz since April for this piece of junk that is called FCP Pro.
Where are the Pro features like Multicam and Output to tape.
Is this why we couldn't discuss and have been silenced like kids during the last mounths.
Surely we can understand that the iPhones and iPads are the main Apple products, in fact until now there are any mention of the FCP on Apple's website frontpage.
Well, pro features are not like Flash where you can put out aside just because...
Right now we were making plans to buy several FCP suites for my network but for now i will pause the process until we are assured that we will have a professional software that complies with the industry and not a piece of junk that is for playing clips only.
My criticism is construtive, i would like that somebody's and minds could be open to this list.
Thank you
All the best
Rui

Hey FxPlug Developers,
I'm going to be out of the office for a couple days, so I'll be unable to answer questions Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll be back on Thursday.

No problem Darrin - we've got FxPlug 2 to browse through in the meantime,
plus FCP X.
Thanks

Now that FCPX is out, can anyone comment on its support for XML via AppleEvents?
Thanks.

I have to say,
It is pretty crappy that most of us long time only find out today, if our long development efforts are supported.
I just found out that *NONE* of my stuff works.
I am resisting the urge to say some choice comments right now. But I will save them for a public position email
to the public.
It seems as though marketing at apple knows best.

Hi Bob and list,
I normally lurk here as my work on the Pro developer side of Final Cut and Logic is rather "in house" at the moment, but I do have to agree with you on this one, Bob. When you consider the existing rich world of Final Cut plugins and the level of support that the FCP developer community provides for Apple pro apps, it's quite disheartening to find out after the fact that the work we're all doing has just been shot to pieces and we all received no warning through access to beta versions - or at least access to the new APIs - before hand.
If I were Darrin, I'd take a few days off right about now as well as I suspect the list content is going to become quite heated.

When we asked months ago what the support for 3rd party plugins would be and the answer we got was "We can't say", that didn't bode well.
The implication was either no support or radically different support. But they could have said something... I only see marginal benefit to Apple from saying - like consumers wouldn't know the bad news until the last minute that all their plugins would no longer work? However, I see huge hurt in not telling us. We could have prepared or at least started to prepare...
I suppose they can do what they want. It's Apple's sandbox, we just play in it.
