Also, 240 variations on the same effect? Rigging is supposed to allow for variations on the same effect, so that might help, perhaps that would better serve him than 240 separate Motion templates.

I did a FCPX-compatible version of our PhotoCopy product, where each
"preset" is a different look model derived from source images. There is
a thumbnail and unique look for each one, so I don't think I could have
done it with rigging.
